I can't tell you how tired I am of politics in general. This is the bottom line...the congress has a job. we are paying them. they make more that we do, they get more perks than we do. they will get more SS than we do. where else would an employee make more than an employer? only in the USA and we are putting up with it. I want them all fired, I want the the way they get paid to mirror how a working "person" gets paid. you don't work, you don't get paid. You have a dead line and go on vacation, you don't get paid. you get a fair pension, Social Security, no personal car, no body guards...no perks...you are only allowed to be elected twice. I want new people in the congress. I want what is going on now to stop--I want congress to put their big boy pants on and act like adults that give a damn about us as a people. I want them to stop with the labels...period!! I want them, when they campaign to just tell me what you are "really" going to do. I don't want to hear what you think of an opponent. We don't need another reality show. Now, the present Congress, while you still have your "job", get your head out of your asses and get busy...no more name calling, no more bullying not more B. S. President Obama, you should have just given the American People all of the money you gave the banks etc to "bail them out", we wouldn't be where we are now if you had done that. Other wise, I will indeed vote for you again...however, don't give a speech about being for the American workers and every day people while you wear Armani suits and Michelle walks around with Tiffany's on her neck and wrist...be very careful sir, we love you, but we want to see an every day president not a king. thank you.

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep - Mary Frye : Pearls Of Wisdom
Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep - Mary Frye : Pearls Of Wisdom
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
THE GREEN THING.....
Just think, we used solar power to dry our wash on the line,, we used wind that turned tall fan on the top of the house or barn, to make and store electricty. We used Glass bottles, no paper or plastic for us. We saved grass clippings and used it to enrich the ground we used for our vegetable garden, we used our saved egg shells, coffee grounds, and mixed it with the dirt and used that in our garden for plants. We did not throw away any fruit seeds we shoved them in the dirt and suprise some of them grew into a fruit tree. We hung laundry out
to dry, using wind power! Now they want to lecture us on green power, read on!
Recycle? What's that?
~Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
In the line at the store, the cashier told an older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.
The woman apologized to him and explained, "We didn't have the green thing back in my day."The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment."
He was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing when we were younger!
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store and got money back on beer and soda bottles. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.
*But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.
We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.
*But we didn't have the green thing in our day.
Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry the clothes. We shared, as
kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, or an occasional sewn new outfit, e.g. not always brand-new clothing. But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.
Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. There were no remotes then, you got up to change the channel.
In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us.
When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.
Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.
* But we didn't have the green thing back then.
We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water.
We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.
*But we didn't have the green thing back then.
Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their parents into a 24-hour taxi service.
Some had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.
*But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?
Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smartass young person.

THIS TIME, THIS PLACE, THIS MOMENT---
THIS TIME, THIS PLACE, THIS MOMENT---
watched for months the political campaigns, wishing there was a better way. There is and I think President Elect Obama ran the cleanest, genuine and respectful campaign to date.I wasn't sure who I wanted to vote for or even if I was going to vote at all. There was some slim pickens there. I told myself I would wait until I heard everyone and did my normal go with my gut feeling attitude that I always have done.I really did some soul searching after I heard Oprah in the very beginning, say " I am not voting for Mr. Obama, because he is BLACK, I am voting for Mr. Obama because he is BRILLIAAANNT". It is fair to say I am not a fan of Oprah. I don't want to be a sheep for a woman who is richer than God. I don't care what book she reads, what diet she is on, who she wants to vote for, who she loves, blah, blah, blah. Granted she worked hard for her status in this world, but I am not impressed. I WAS impressed when she was just getting started, but I digress. That was a difficult time for me, I wanted to vote for Hillary at first but again, I wanted to give myself time to listen to all the dialogue. I am glad I waited . Listening to Mr.Obama and watching him very closely and looking into his eyes. I knew he was the one.I have always thought differently than most people my age, I mean the everyday people the real people. I love to take risks even though I am 60. I think outside the box. I love technology. I have always been on the side of the underdog and I have always taught my children that people are people. There is no color. I don't care if someone is gay, I don't ever look at someone and feel superior. I do not judge and I resent anyone that does.I have a United Nations family because, I believe, I taught my children well.I have lived through historical events and I am so blessed that I lived to see a gifted, intelligent, humble, wise and kind MAN become president. I was blessed to hear his speech to the Nation. My 14 year old grand son and I listened to it together while we were on the cell phone. Him in Rockford, IL. Me in Huntington Beach, Ca. He is a bi-racial young man. He looks very much like Obama when he was young. It is amazing. He is amazing. I have a bi-racial grand daughter, and another bi-racial grand son who is an author, by the way. My other 3 grand sons are white. We as a family are Eastern Cherokee, Irish, Sicilian, English, French and oh yes, white. I only use the labels to make a point. I never say bi-racial, especially when it comes to my grand children. I don't believe in labels. So there is my story for now. I am glad Mr Obama won. I know he will face many challenges and I believe that like all of us humans, he will make mistakes and arrogant, holier than tho news reporters and ignorant bigoted people will let the rest of us be very aware of it.I just hope we as a country will come together and fix things that we can. Watch a disaster movie one of these days. "Independence Day " is a good example. The world came together not caring what race or social status everyone was and fought against something outside of our world. Truth is stranger than fiction and I believe that we can come together in the United States to take care of the United States. I would love to see the wealthy who choose to give millions of dollars to other countries and adopt other countries babies and children, take a good look at home where there is hunger, homelessness, pain and parent less children. There are people that don't have a mortgage or children or a business to write off on our taxes. We rent, we work hard and don't get a break. There are many things right here at home that need us ALL to take care of. And yes President Obama--- YES WE CAN.

WE MUST STAND BACK AND RETHINK OUR LIVES-------
In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.
Eleanor Roosevelt
It is time to stand back and take a look at our lives and try to put everything into perspective. I do know how difficult that is, but we must. We are all over-whelmed with the way things are right now in our beloved United States.
We desperately want to blame someone. We are looking to the government or anyone or anything else that can help us. True enough, most of us didn’t ask for this economy or the unemployment due to unscrupulous lenders, real estate agents etc. All I can do is speak for myself.
There is no way in hell, I would have not done a lot of research before I signed paperwork on a house that I knew in my heart I couldn’t afford. I do believe however, there are folks out there that were bamboozled . The older folks or the folks that really had no idea, they just wanted the American dream, a home of their own. Who knows, some of these folks might have thought that in 3-5 years when they had to pay more money for that home, that their circumstances would be better.
I do know though, that some people signed those papers knowing full well, they couldn’t afford the payments on the home. They would just take off when the time comes and to enjoy home ownership as long as they could.
The problem with any of these scenarios is, that the trickle down effect. The banks, the mortgage companies and the realtors knew damn well this could happen, but as usual lived for the moment. They had their commission, so to hell with everyone and everything else. Well it all blew up their collective faces.
We as a people these days want someone to take responsibility for our actions. We call our creditors trying to get out of a bill that is clearly theirs and expect to get a break on it. I can almost guarantee you cannot do that with the utility companies, because no matter what no one knows what the hell the bills mean.
I quit my job because I hated it so much and knew that eventually I was going to crack. I took what small amount of my 401k I had and went back into Real Estate. I am a very honest caring person and I never lied to anyone to get a sale. I was always swimming against the tide on that one.
Never the less, I quit the job, even though I had 7 months of living expenses to get by on. True enough, I didn’t do my due diligence and research the lay of the land. Needless to say I ran out of money and realized that at 60, there aren’t too many jobs out there. I have much education and experience in many areas. That does not matter when you are over 55 and people that say that companies can’t by low discriminate are living in a fairy land!!! I take full responsibility for my actions, I don’t blame anyone but myself. If I have a big credit card bill, a wireless bill, a cable bill etc. I look over that bill with a fine tooth comb and will not call to complain, if I have used more minutes than I should, or order too many On demand movies or have charged too much. I have never asked for a credit, because 9 out of 10 times it was my doing.
There are way too many people that do what ever the hell they want to do and will not take responsibility for their actions. They are spoiled and their kids are spoiled.
Wake up !! You don’t honestly think that OCTU mom didn’t know exactly doing when she got impregnated with all of those embryos ???? She sure as hell did and won’t have anything to do with it.
So please read the quote from Eleanor Roosevelt and think long and hard about the situation we as a nation are in We can’t go on being a nation of victims.

The Greatest Gift We Can Give----
"The greatest gift we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence"----Denis Waitley
Somehow there are people in the country that have forgotten this, if they were ever insightful enough to know it in the first place.
Look around you. This doesn't only apply to the economic fiasco we are now in, but life in general. We have grown women having litters of babies, parents killing their children, people that are crying foul because they haven't taken responsibility for their own actions and people that have been so busy in their every day lives, many of which were trying to keep up with the Joneses, they allowed the powers that be to screw them.
We as a nation can't keep blaming the banks, the government and the wealthy in general for our woes. The only true "color" in this country is GREEN. Of course, there are thousands of exceptions and there were many people that tried to warn us but we just pooh poohed it. The wealthy have always "ran" this country in one form or another. We listen to the media and take what they say as gospel instead of researching things ourselves and actually using the mind God gave us. We follow celebrities like they are not just people. We see how much they get paid for a movie and envy it. We have been sheep that have turned into victims.
It is time to go back to basics and remember to take responsibility. We CAN NOT teach our children these things if we don't practice them ourselves Children live by example, so take a long hard look at how you are living your life before you put blame on someone else for your problems. How can we give a gift we don't have? It isn't too late, we can turn things around, we just have to get together and support the leaders we believe and get rid of the ones that that we don't believe in. Don't give credence to the media, don't keep fueling the fire by watching the programs that make criminals and insane people into celebrities. It is time to take responsibility, teach it to our children and show them what true independence is.
